Built in 1908, the chapel offers a heavenly space for any event - a dinner to impress, an intimate wedding for your closest friends and family, a private concert or any occasion where pure elegance, the highest quality and an eye for detail is required.

It all started…

When Christine first purchased Bishop’s Court Estate - the garden was almost non-existent, apart from a small collection of foundation trees, some of which can still be seen in today. These trees are as old as the house built in 1870.

It was a blessing someone had the forethought to plant those trees, because today, they are vital living treasures, attracting birds from all over the district and providing essential shade as well as supplying key design elements for the garden created by Christine and her family since she first moved in.

The garden has been transformed over the years with the same creative energy and inspiration Christine has brought to the house interiors. She has gradually turned a plain Jane garden into a delightful space full of nooks and crannies of different sections, perfect for all her guests to enjoy in many capacities.

The garden is open to all guests to explore enjoy from the  Reflective Water Garden, Kitchen Potager Garden, Woodland Garden, Camellia Rhododendron Walk and the Romantic Chapel Garden, just to name a few.

Originally Christine decided to create a garden that encouraged guests to explore, relax, and rest and above all, become energised and inspired. 

Bishop’s Court’s Gardens are now considered one of the great gardens of Bathurst and it has been regularly recognised during the Annual Open Gardens Festival in Bathurst.

Her use of mirrors within the garden is inspirational and her well-known design skills have allowed her to view the garden as a canvas. The mirrors sometimes just reflect a beautiful vista or open up the space by reflecting more light in

She has managed to create movement throughout the original static garden with the use of garden walls and paths, gravel areas and water features and the garden has now been the scene of many celebratory occasions from weddings to fashion parades.
